Christmas weekend

I can't even beleive Christmas has now come and gone... our tree is starting to shed some of its needles, most of the cookies have been eaten, wrapping paper is stored away for another year and the radio has stopped playing Christmas music all much too soon for my taste... yet sorting through all of these pictures I'm reminded what a special time of year this truly is. 

We had such a fun filled four days - Evan's brother Travis, Francis, Seivert and Felton were all here visiting from Toronto while Lucie, Quinn and Luna came over from Seattle.  Combined with both of our parents we had almost everybody home, except for Janie, Josh, Emma and Lily who were all very missed. 

Elise LOVED all the wrapping paper, colors, noise and mess and we had a wonderful first Christmas with her.  Thank you family and friends for making this holiday so special.

Luna and Elise are old buddies by now and Elise squeals in delight at her.

Ten months old

Our sweet Elise Ana ~ Can't believe you are now 10 months old, 10 months and 4 days to be exact as our photo shoot this month is a little late, which just goes to show how quickly time is passing by.  You are a busy girl, full of life and energy.  Mischief is starting to show itself in the little things you love to do, especially when we say no - like pulling the dirt out of the plant pots and eating it when we're not looking.  You are a speedy crawler and can pull on and cruise around all the furniture.  You love to let go and see how long you can stand before you come crashing down, most of the time without a scratch or scrape, but that isn't to say you haven't had your share of bruises, scrapes and split lips.    You are so close to walking that we are almost counting the days. 

We love you and cannot wait to celebrate our first Christmas with you!

I just had the most fun taking pictures of this beauty of a baby, James Patrick M, he is absolutely perfect in every way.  I am so excited to have this bundle of joy living two blocks away and look forward to many play dates that lie ahead.

Hunt for the perfect Christmas tree

It is definately Winter, and so so so cold over here, didn't make it above freezing all day yesterday.  Yet there is something so cozy and warm about a lit tree, fire place, hot coco that makes it just the most special time of year.  Elise's first Christmas and our first together east of the Cascades. 

It all starts with the perfect tree and tree hunting experience... and so since the temperatures barely made it over 30 degrees, our Christmas tree hunt was deverted from a hike through Mission Ridge to Cashmere's tree farm.  It is such a fun tradition and I am so excited we were able to join in this year.
