Easter in grandma's back yard

It is absolutley spectacular to be able to walk out of your front door and enter paradise.  It is just that at grandma's house and we enjoyed it thoroughly today.  We had a special day with grandma hiking to the big tree, playing tennis and enjoying the beautiful sunshine this Easter weekend blessed us with.  Yesterday a fun river loop walk, Easter egg hunt and a day in the yard at my parent's.  From the way we are spending our weekends it seems as though we are becoming "moochers" of both our familie's properties and homes...I guess it is obvious that our main reason for moving back was to have both our families practically in our back yard and we couldn't be happier.

narrowing the size gap

My two sweeties are getting closer in size every day.  Now both in size 4 diapers, Elise in 18-24 month clothes and Finn slowly closing in with some 12-18 month clothes like this cute bike shirt.

almost twins

Elise and Finnegan look so much alike in these photos they could almost be twins.  I still cannot believe our two blue eyed fair babies.

Spring is in the air

It felt like Spring this weekend and it was wonderful.  A much needed boost in the midst of flu season.  The kiddos have been sick constantly over the past 3 months; I can't even remember a full week without one of them having a fever/runny nose or throwing up.  It makes me oh so close to throwing in the towel on working as each week at day care they seem to bring home a new bug and I am beginning to wonder, is it truly worth it?

So, we spent a wonderful weekend with family (we're staying away from friends with kiddos so we don't infect anyone else)... but our family may need to suffer with our bugs/viruses;)  Evan, the kids and grandma Connie went up to the lake on Saturday, while I finished up some CMEs and today we spent some time at my parent's making a fire for some spring cleaning.

I LOVE Finn's sweet blue eyes in this photo.

Finn & Liam

Finn & Liam are born only 1 week apart and are almost identical.  One day they will be buddies tackling each other but for now they are equally adorable and are trying to out do each other with the number of rolls around their thighs.

Jackie and Aaron let us stay at their house last weekend, even though now we come as a giant, messy and noisy package of 4!!!  They are such special friends and it always feels like a home away from home.

Finn's 1st and Elise's 2nd trip to the Zoo

The sunshine was shining and most of the animals were out showing their stripes and furry coats this past weekend.  Elise is learning all about the jungle animals at school (day care) and so we went to take a live look at the Safari at Woodland Park Zoo.  Elise was in heaven and Finn happily snoozed his way through the whole experience (much like Eli did 1.5 years ago).

Auntie Lucie joined us and Elise loved nothing more than riding her back and climbing all over her.  She calls Lucie "Huci" and so it is always "Huci do it, noooo Huci kiss it"!

The Cat in the Hat party

It was fitting this year that Elise's 2nd birthday party was a celebration of Dr. Seuss's Cat in the Hat and by coincidence March 2nd was also Dr. Seuss's birthday.   Elise LOVES the cat in the hat and always requests to watch "Go Go", as she calls the show.  We had such a fun party... this year Eli was much more into it and loved playing with her friends and equally we loved visiting with family and friends as well.  Thank you for such a special day.

Daddy was the leader of present opening this year... shall we just say it was almost more fun watching him;)
