Happy Halloween

Our hungry caterpillar & honey bee.  It seems so fitting for both of them right now; Finn always eating and Elise a social little buzzy bee .  Finn had to get by this year with not much of a costume, but being that he slept through the whole ordeal, that was alright.  Elise continues her streak in the insect category and was a honey bee although she did not seem too keen on wearing it until she was distracted by the other kiddos and candy.  The problem was the feathers around the neck and sleeves; must have been itchy.

We did a round of trick or treating at Evan's office and then handed out candy at home.  Perhaps next year we too will be out on the streets.

Parents came by after work to see the kiddos in costume.

enjoying these moments

When brother does this, sister gets to color with mommy and everyone is happy!

Q & L visit on a rainy Saturday

Since it was raining both here and in Seattle, Quinn and Lucie decided that we might as well spend a rainy day together... and we couldn't agree more.

Uncle Quinn is quickly becoming a natural.

Deda Petr and Finnegan - one day Finn will love grandpa's reading glasses (the turquoise ones):)

Abriel, Elise & Elysse

These three little munchkins were such good play buddies and such little girls playing with their baby dolls for over two hours:)  Here they are cozy in Finn's little bed.

evening with friends

It has been a while for use since we've had any evening social gathering, since our bed time falls between 8:30 and 9 to match that of Finn's.  We made up for it in a big way with an evening filled with the amazing company of the most special friends, laughter and silliness.

Looks at this big boy at walking all over at 10 months, wonder if that's what in store for us  in a short 9 months.

One of my favorite photos.... LOVE... baby and dearest friend

brother and sister

Both Finn & Eli at two weeks old.

Finnegan's two week check up

weight: 8 lbs 14 oz (birth weight 7 lbs 7 oz)
height: 20 inches
head circumference: 14 inches

We have a growing healthy baby boy on our hands, with a 1.5 pound weight gain in two weeks!  No wonder he is eating constantly:)

Someone was a little jealous of brother's bath tub.

two weeks old

Finnegan is two weeks old and seems to be growing so so fast.  He is such a sweet baby, full of facial expressions and little noises.  Big sister is adjusting too and is now loving him continuously with kisses and hugs.

Elise's "bike"

and we are off.... four wheels but cruising like a champ, especially down a slight incline:)

Thanks for passing this one down Laura, it's a huge hit.

grandpa Terry

An overdue photo of these two cozy boys:)  "Gampa" as Elise says.

Allison visits

Our sweet friend Allison drove over solo for a quick trip last Sunday to meet little Finn.  She is such a gem of  friend, melts my heart how amazing she is to our babes.  Cannot wait until her little peanut, also a boy, arrives in three months so that these two can be best buds.

"night night"

Everyone in our house is going "night night"... all the time, including little brother!  All of Eli's babies and non-baby items, including remote controls to the TV, go night night.  They get turned face down, covered repeatedly with a blankie and patted all while reciting "night night" over and over.

If only it was that easy to get our two sweet peas to go night night for real :)

Three and a half days ago, on October 2nd 2012, our little boy came into this world at 3:59 am, weighing in at 7 pounds 7 ounces and measuring 19.75 inches.  Almost three weeks early, he couldn't wait to get here and we couldn't wait to meet him.  The entire experience was a little bit of a whirlwind - I had a full three weeks of patients scheduled, baby laundry to wash and prepare and mentally prepare for this transition.  So when I started to have contractions Monday afternoon, I ran around trying to pack my bag and quickly get the house and baby bag ready.

We checked into the hospital at 9:30 pm and Finn was born just a few hours later.  Though, smaller than Elise by almost one pound, he has many features that ressemble our little girl only a little darker, perhaps mommy will get one that resembles her a little bit.  With his brown hair, sweet little chin and chubby cheecks he is absolutely perfect and we are so so in love.

Big sister, Elise, is giving kisses left and right and loves to identify all of his facial features (not always so gently) pointing out "eyes, nose and mouth".  It wouldn't be fair to say she's not jealous of sharing the spot light and some of "her" things including the changing table and on occasion her crib.

We are definately in transition mode and adjusting to being a family of four.  We have been spoiled by both of our parents with visits, presents, shuttling and baby sitting of Elise and lots and lots of love.  Lucie has been our personal care taker this whole week as she quickly drove over the pass just in time Monday night to get to the hospital just as we were checking in and has been here since - she is simply amazing and has made this transition so much smoother.
