Sun kissed and wind blown

Had a great afternoon at the Cabin today, though we were almost blown off the point by the gusty wind.  Roasting hot dogs on a beach fire, lounging on the point, and wine tasting at Karma Vineyards.  All in wonderful company of the McLaughlins.

growing and talking

They are growing up way too fast!

Elise can count 1-10 in English and Czech, sing the entire ABC's, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, knows all her colors and animals in both languages.  I almost can't keep up with all the new words she learns every day, it is so much fun.

Finnegan is starting to babble too and two of his bottom teeth have popped through on the 20th, my big boy.

While Elise eats only pasta, cheese, pizza, cereal, and chicken nuggets, Finnegan loves peas, bannanas, sweet potatoes, prunes and carrots (everything he can get his hands on).

Blocks visit for Wenatchee Marathon weekend

Two years, give or take a few weeks, was the last time we saw our dear friends the Blocks.  Their kiddos were still babies and are now full grown beautiful and busy toddlers.  I love that we can continue in the closeness of friendship as if no time has passed at all.

Shannon was my inspiration and ran the Wenatchee Marathon last weekend at an incredibly fast pace, while I did the 10 K and had a blast being part of an organized event.   I have always been more of a sprinter but I have to say these longer events, I consider a 10K a longer event, are something I have learned to enjoy especially since I can do it with the kiddos content for at least 45 minutes in the stroller.  Thanks for a  wonderful visit, can't wait to start planning another trip.

quick trip to the lake

It was a quick and cool trip to the lake, but a lovely one none the less.

Elise has a green tumb

And Finn is her little helper

turning 31

I cherished my day with our kiddos and squeezed them extra tight as the Boston marathon events unraveled.  With such tragedy and sadness happening, I am so extra grateful for my sweet and healthy munchinks and family.

Family bike ride

And we're off...two kiddos and bikes and it feels great!  It took a little creative assembly to fit Finn's car seat in the trailer but the task was well worth it as he slept through the entire ride.

Elise's 1st visit to the dentist

Elise had her first visit with the dentist today and although her highlight was the visit to the toy chest and a sticker, she was such a good girl, even allowed them to polish two of her chicklet teeth!

My how much those teeth have grown since this picture, 14 months ago:)

Six months old

Finnegan Michael ~ Six months, half a year... I cannot believe you are such a big boy already.  You are so so so happy, laid back, gentle, observant and just the sweetest boy I have even known.  You have conquered sitting at 5.5 months, started rolling tummy to back at 4.5 months and back to tummy at 5 months.  You have yet to get any teeth but that does not seem to slow you down in the eating department.  You started eating rice cereal at 5.5 months and love it.  You love to laugh at your sister and she loves to make you laugh just the same.  We love watching both of you start to play together and entertain each other.  Two weeks ago you moved out of mommy and daddy's room and are  big boy in your own room and crib.  The first night there you slept for 7 hours without waking, but that was just a one and only occurrence so far and since you have gone back to your 3 hour (4 if we're lucky) schedule.  You LOVE to snuggle.  Finnegan, you are the sweetest 6 month old boy and we are so so in love with every chubby ounce of you.

Allison & Lincoln visit

This beautiful and special momma came to visit us yesterday with baby Lincoln.  She braved the solo drive over the pass with this precious babe and we had a lovely visit.

What you can't tell just by looking at the photo is that she is an absolute natural of a mother, is extra talented at communicating and dealing with 2 year olds, is so wise, so kind and generous and an absolute gem of a friend and person.  I am so lucky to have her in my life.

Our 3 peanuts!

Elise had fun dressing up little Lincoln as a butterfly:)
