Christmas Day

A cozy Christmas morning with grandma Connie was the perfect start to our Christmas day.  The memories of last Christmas and the special day spent in Leavenworth with grandpa laid on all our hearts but I think he is happy looking down at the love and joy that was felt on this day.

My parents, Lucie, Quinn and Owen joined us in the afternoon for a Christmas lunch and we had a great time spending time together.  There is nothing I love more than watching our kiddos play with their grandparents and pinch myself at how fortunate we are to be here so close to them.

Christmas Eve

Gorgeous day with blue skies and warm temperatures, perfect day for Christmas eve.  By tradition we spend Christmas eve at my parent's house cooking (mom does cooking while we try to help and chase kiddos around), walk on the trail, delicious traditional Czech Christmas dinner,  and way too many gifts we surely don't deserve.

It is such a special day morning to end.  Little Owen joined us this year and it was so special to have our three kiddos to share the meaning and joys of Christmas with.  It does add a little rambunctiousness to the celebrations, especially from Miss Elise... for example, dad's nurse gave him a card that plays music, a Christmas song of barking dogs, our entire Christmas dinner was accompanied to the opening and closing of this barking dogs Christmas music card.   All the more memorable and special:)

These two boys are almost the same size already!!!

Merry Christmas - friends dinner

A few weeks ago we started a new Christmas tradition - a Christmas dinner and kiddo gift exchange with friends.  Special friendships with so so so many laughs, cookie decorating, little kiddo craziness with lots of little snuggles.  It was lovely and a definite must for every other year moving forward.

 Our turn

Although this is more how it went :)

Date with Katie and boys

Had a really fun date before Thanksgiving with Katie, Rocco, Bo and Luke.  They are such sweet boys and it was great catching up at Pybus.

House reno # 1

We are nearing the end of our first house reno.  The wall is down, drywall is up, ceiling patched, florescent kitchen lights out, recessed lights in, front entry tile out.  All that is left is to patch the carpet and place new tile.  We have done some ourselves, a lot has fallen on my dad (who knows how to do everything in the world), and some work was hired out.  It has been exhausting and messy living in chaos and mess for the past two weeks but we are so excited about the outcome.  It has turned exactly how we envisioned, if not better.

a collision with the bed frame

Someone was running so fast, after being told to go to her room for pushing Finn into the dryer, that she tripped and fell face first straight into the frame of her bed.  A bloody nose, black eye and bruised cheek later, here she is 5 days of so out and bruises are finally starting to fade.
