Silly fun on a rainy day!

Three months old!

Elise is growing so fast and I cannot believe she is already three months old; this seems like some kind of milestone for some reason.  She is so alert, holds her head pretty well without too many wobbles, smiles and recognizes people all the time (especially her mommy which melts my heart), and still has the cutest dimly hiney and chubby cheeks.  Measured her at home: 24.5 inches, 14 pounds (though not sure if that's accurate) and 37cm head circumference.  Love you so so much sweet Elise. 

A very special day

2 years, 9 months and 2 weeks later, not that we're counting, the day is here... Law school graduation!    I am so proud of Evan and all that he has accomplished in his journey to get here and it has not been a short one, he has worked so hard.   We had a very special week and weekend celebrating.   Now, bring on the Bar exam!

Thanks Janie for lending us such a cute dress for Elise, it fit perfectly!

Elise did so well, slept through most of the 3 hour ceremony and then partied like a champ.

Fun in the sun with friends!

Celebrations here we come!!! Evan took his last final of law school this past Wednesday so we've been making up for lost time and celebrating.  Had such a fun dinner on Thursday with friends, but I could not manage to hold baby Elise and take photos so no pics from dinner.  Here's a few from a stroll at Alki with Beau & Jess visiting from Denver and LA and then a walk around greenlake with my favorite girls & Miss Lyla.

Mother's Day!

Motherhood, filled with new adventures and joys every day, is a forever evolving and changing journey.  When I look at my mother I see consistency and love so strong you can feel it miles away.  I have come to appreciate so much what we call "a mother's love" and now can only begin to comprehend the forever love it speeks of... the constant pride, joy and also worry that fills my heart and soul.  Our family is blessed with two amazing mothers and now grandmothers; without them we wouldn't be half the parents we are striving to be.  Happy Mother's Day & we love you so very very much.

We spent the day doing this... for hours, it was lovely.  When Evan got home we had a great afternoon strolling around the lake, my kind of day.

Tulips

A day of sunshine and beautiful tulip fields (or just one as they were almost all out of bloom) made for a happy family of three!  We took this afternoon to venture up to Mt. Vernon and La Connor after Evan finished his first of three finals and had an afternoon to relax before hitting the books again.  Unfortunately, Elise is not loving car rides these days and cried so hard half way each way that her little face turned so pink and little tongue quivered so much my heart ached that we had to pull over every few miles, oh my sweet little one.. we need to over come this and quickly!
