Finnegan: 4 months

Our sweet little boy is 4 months old and is growing and changing every day.  Though a week or so late with my tradition of monthly updates, here it is.

You are such a sweet, gentle and laid back little boy.  You smile and cooh so often and even give out a little gurgle and giggle in excitement, especially when you're tickled under the folds in your neck.  You are a trooper at daycare where Nickii and Val take care of you.  You've even outdone yourself and actually take a bottle, unlike your sister when she was your age.  You continue to be a night owl, waking up every 2-3 hours at a time, but you do fall back asleep very quickly, so thank you for that.  You snuggle all the time, especially from 3am to 7am and if you could you would sleep pressed up to your mommy all night long.   Your sister adores you and you love her right back.  Right before bed, you lay with her on a pillow in the corner of your room while we read books or sing; she won't have it any other way.  We just got back from your first vacation to Vail, CO and you did fantastic.

Love you so much sweet little Finnegan.

Just had your doctors appointment today the 11th of February and are doing great.

Jacks visits

Ami Jaclyn drove over from Seattle to see us last Friday; it was more than wonderful to have her all to ourselves for the day.  This girl and I are like peas and carrots type of friends and I miss her so much.

Elise full of fun

Today was one of those days where I just took everything in; my last official day of maternity leave and my two peanuts were full of comedy.  I have to write it down as I'm sure the next phase with them will bring new funny sayings and doings and I will no longer remember the funnies of today.

We went to Home Depot twice to get some new curtain rods, Elise LOVES going to Home Depot and yells out "Hippo" as it must sounds like homedepot combined.  Riding the truck like shopping cart is pure fun for her even though with the curtain rods in it we were almost 8 feet long making it impossible to turn.  Then on to Safeway..she knows she can get a cookie in the bakery but more recently we she has been more thrilled with bagels.  So today, we enter the store and almost immediately start yelling "I like it, bagel" over and over again.  This is all said in the most adorable high pitched squeeky voice.  Nap times have become a cleaning adventure as her latest trick is to completely underess herself waist down, including her diaper, which leads to peeing in the bed.  I even changed her back into some jammies for her nap today thinking she couldn't take these off but sure enough all 12 little snap buttons were undone and so she was completely naked in a wet bed once again.  We shall try the zipper ones next time:)  And finally, whenever she has an owie or bumps something she comes yelling "mommy kiss it" but today she wanted no one but "Finn kiss it"!

I absolutely loved today and will cherish it all day tomorrow as I start back to work.

brrrr, it's so cold

It has been such a cold week, with temperatures not reaching above freezing, so we have been bundled up and enjoying some short walks in the cold yet beautiful weather.

Great babicka Jana knitted these cute hats for Elise & Finn

Florea's visit

Two weekends ago we had a special visit with the Floreas.  Home from Costa Rica for a few weeks, we were so happy to reunite Elise and Logan, or Logi as she calls him.  We too were thrilled to be able to spend a day catching up.

These two snuggle bugs are like peas and carrots.

last 2 weeks of maternity leave

I want to savor every moment, even the rascal ones, of my last two weeks of maternity leave with my babies.  It has gone by so quickly, and although I am mentally ready to start back to work, my heart is aching with the though of leaving them even for only 3 days a week.  I know I go overboard with pictures of nothing but my sweeties, I can't help myself.

We have started the dual bath and I must say it is much easier.
