Orcas & San Juan Island

The San Juan Islands are a special place for us.  We have been going there every summer for the past 10 years and it has become a tradition we all look forward to the moment we step off the ferry the year prior.  This year was no exception.  The four of us went a little early and spent two night on Orcas Island at Rosario Resort.  Five years ago we had our wedding there and we were so excited to return for the first time.  It was so much fun for us to return with the kiddos and reminisce.  By Thursday we hopped on the inter island ferry and headed to San Juan Island where our family had rented a house in Roche Harbor.   We had outgrown the condo we usually rent so instead rented a great cabin on the beach in Westcott Bay.  We were able to crab and dig for clams until we couldn't handle any more sea food, kayak, visit the lavender farm, play on the beach, stroll through the marina at Roche harbor and mostly enjoy our time together.  We are booking the place again for next year and cannot wait for another great trip.

My uncle was able to fly in for a 24 hour visit from Indianapolis.  It was his first time meeting Elise and Finn and it was so so special to have him there.

Until next year!
