The birth day of Owen Quinn McKee 9.18.13
I am not sure what it is about a full moon and labor, but both Finn, 3 weeks early, and Owen, 2 weeks early, were born on the eve of a full moon. On Wednesday morning, Lucie called saying that she had what felt like contractions, soon the afternoon confirmed that this special little man was about to make his grand entrance and so as quickly as we could, mom, dad, Finn and I jumped into the car and drove over to Swedish. Shortly after we arrived, this special little boy came into this world. The story goes that something funny was said in the birthing room, Lucie laughed and little Owen's head came out, I know it wasn't as easy as that, but Lucie was as graceful at being pregnant as she was at giving birth and made it all seem like second nature.
It was such an honor seeing this little brown haired, 8 lbs 2 oz. boy for the first time and such an amazing experience for me as his auntie. And to see your one and only sister experience the joy and journey of becoming a parent for the first time was beyond special. It was a weekend filled with once in a lifetime experiences and I cannot wait to spend countless hours in the years to come holding, snuggling, smooching, and laughing with this special little boy that I love so so much. He is so beautiful. I am stealing their beautiful photos.
