One Year Old
Finnegan Michael
I cannot imagine what 366 days ago was like. But, at 3:59 on October 2nd, one year ago, you made us the luckiest parents and once again, just like your sister, you showed us how to love more, how to love deeper that we have loved before.
~ Finnegan ~
You are the most easy going and sweet little boy, though I see a little mischief oozing out lately and I am quite relieved as I know you will need this to keep up with your sister.
You are so tough and seem to handle hair pulling and pushing fairly well (before mommy or daddy have a chance to intervene)... I think you are just smirking because you know in a few short months you will over grow your big sister and it will then be pay back time.
You are an exceptional eater. From whole cherry tomatoes, beef, chicken, fish, corn on the cob, there truly isn't much you do not LOVE to eat.
You have the sweetest voice and still sound like a little Toucan as you call out "Ahhhh Da", "Oooooo Ahhh", though you have said the words "auto" (first word where you looked right at it, Czech for car), "dada", "mama", and "baaal" (ball).
You are physically a gross motor king, not so much for fine motor ability just yet. You have power in your hands like great grandpa Jaroslav and when something needs to be moved aside you have no problem doing so.
You are an expert crawler, I truly have never seen anyone crawl as fast as you. Walking is just around the corner and you cruise around the house holding onto your crocodile walker or pushing one of Elise's baby strollers.
You do love to play with your sister from time to time and do tolerate her baby dolls, but it is amazing how you gravitate to anything that rolls, balls and trucks are your favorite.
You have 6 little teeth, two bottom and four top, but are drooling like crazy, so perhaps more are on their way.
Sleeping is still not a strong suit, but improvement is measurable, not waking 2 times per night for a quick little snack. This is definitely mommy's doing more than yours.
And finally.... you HAIR. It is truly amazing, I don't think I ever want to cut it and I want you to stay like this forever.
It is an honor being your mommy and daddy... we love you so very much our love.
Sister caught in action
